Figurative Language

Hello once again  Audience, today i shall tell you about some figurative language in this wonderful book. The figurative language i found happened to be a simile. A simile for those of you who may not know or who have forgotten, is when someone compares two things using like or as. Here I shall tell you the quote and explain what it means, now, lets begin. Here, Minerva said "Mama watches Don Antonio like an animal waiting to attack if her young one is threatened."(Alvarez104) Here mama is watching Dan Antonio with snake eyes, she is keeping a sharp eye on him just in case he tries anything funny. She is clearly being protective and is just trying to be a mother. But she should not be so angered, she should have trust in my people, obviously, i wouldn't hire someone you cant trust. but who can blame her, she is trying to protect her "Precious" angel, the same angel who would dared to have slapped me This figurative language shows how protective Minerva's mother is about her. This also brings out the theme in a way, this shows how protective a family should be about one another, and how they should never keep their eyes off one another. This is shown throughout the whole book, The sisters always looked after each other while they were at the Catholic school. They protected and watched over one another at my banquet. This book portrays many situations of a family watching and caring for another. So overall, this has to be a great form of figurative language that i have found in the book. Once again my lovely audience, I thank you so for reading this far till the end. Farewell, until next time.

Conflict

Hello once again fellow readers. It is me Trujillo and I am here to discuss a topic which internal and external conflicts within the book. First lets take a look at our Internal conflict. After Sinita told Minerva a terrible story about how I, The Magnificent Trujillo, Became president, what lies she told, but in the end Minerva  was trying hard not to cry about what she heard, this caused a twisting feeling in her stomach. She stated "I started crying, but I pinched my arm to stop. I had to be brave for Sinita." (Alvarez19) This poor young girl had trouble believing such a story that she began to cry. Now allow me to show you an external conflict within the book, as the four sisters' father is held under house arrest, he appears to come back rather trashy, you don't know how, and I certainty don't either. when he is released to his family again, this is said "He is such a pitiful sight. His face is gaunt, his voice is shaky; his once fancy guayabera is soiled and hangs on him, several sizes too large. He and Mama and I embrace. I can feel his bony shoulders." (Alvarez112) As you can clearly see, this man somehow managed to hurt himself in our cell, how disgusting. Don't worry, this man is safe now and in better hands, we assure you that  nothing bad happened to him. Well my audience, it has been my honor to have shared my 5thoughts with you this evening, someday we shall meet again and hopefully have something more delightful to talk about.

My blog

Hello fellow people of the world. I Trujillo have decided to read this pitiful disgusting book. I have heard that it is about three sisters who plan to overthrow me. If I ever find these sisiters I swear I will ki... talk to them about why they should not. I am a great leader of the Dominican Republic, everyone loves me, obeys me, worships me, almost as if im a god or something. Anyways, i plan on reading this horrid book and discuss about these pesty sisters who have no respect for their elders. Maybe... I might have to teach these sisters a lesson for trying to commit something so suicidal. I plan on informing you readers on what is happening as i read this book, hopefully, there is a happy ending... for me at least.
