Figurative Language

Hello once again  Audience, today i shall tell you about some figurative language in this wonderful book. The figurative language i found happened to be a simile. A simile for those of you who may not know or who have forgotten, is when someone compares two things using like or as. Here I shall tell you the quote and explain what it means, now, lets begin. Here, Minerva said "Mama watches Don Antonio like an animal waiting to attack if her young one is threatened."(Alvarez104) Here mama is watching Dan Antonio with snake eyes, she is keeping a sharp eye on him just in case he tries anything funny. She is clearly being protective and is just trying to be a mother. But she should not be so angered, she should have trust in my people, obviously, i wouldn't hire someone you cant trust. but who can blame her, she is trying to protect her "Precious" angel, the same angel who would dared to have slapped me This figurative language shows how protective Minerva's mother is about her. This also brings out the theme in a way, this shows how protective a family should be about one another, and how they should never keep their eyes off one another. This is shown throughout the whole book, The sisters always looked after each other while they were at the Catholic school. They protected and watched over one another at my banquet. This book portrays many situations of a family watching and caring for another. So overall, this has to be a great form of figurative language that i have found in the book. Once again my lovely audience, I thank you so for reading this far till the end. Farewell, until next time.
