Anaphora and parallelism
Hello once agian my lovely audience. today i propose a new topic to discuss. This time i shall discuss about anaphora or Parallelism. Anaphora is the repetion of the first word or phrase in succesive clauses. Parallelism is when a sentence is properly structured and has a smooth sentence flow. Here in chapter 10 of the book, i found both, Anaphora and Parallelism, Patria is having flashbacks and is recalling what has happened when the SIM came to her house and took her husband kids, she sais "Over and over again, i saw the SIM approaching, i saw Nelson and Pedrito hurrying out the back way, Noris's stricken face. I saw the throng of men at the door, I heard the stomping of, the running, the yelling. I saw the house burning." (Alvarez, 201) As you can see, Patria smoothly flowed her sentences together, she connected them and put them all in the same tense, which is past tense. Unfortunately, she did break the parallelism when she said "Norris's stricken face." she did to showto show how scared and unaware and how traumatized she was at this incident. But as you just saw at the quote, it clearly has both Anaphora and Ilussion. So this concludes our time together and thus i showed and explained to you Anaphora and Ilussion. Thank you and farerwell.
